Virtual dj codec error
It's just a matter of giving the recording file a location and name, I make a new folder in the Documents folder called "VirtualDJ Recordings". Then click on "Master", I don't usually use the auto-start as you have to have a video loaded and press play for it to work.
I prefer to start the recording process manually, any silence can be trimmed out later. I played around on my previous laptop to try and get better quality be changing codecs, but, found only the default codec "FLV1" in the Registry Tool worked reasonably well.
This new laptop has defaulted to a better codec "MPEG-4", but then, it is a much faster more powerful computer. Hope this is useful to all those struggling to record video, best of luck.
Andrew87 PRO Infinity Member since Most video codecs require the horizontal and vertical dimensions to be divisible by 8, unfortunately you have no way of knowing the size of the preview window but if you leave it at default these properties should be true.

I will keep everyone posted Andrew87 PRO Infinity Member since Are you outputting to the second monitor directly or dragging the preview window and resizing?
The size of your monitor doesn't matter, it's the resolution which is important. Some codecs may not want to record at x or x for example but I think it's mainly the horizontal where the divisible by 8 rule is true.
What codec are you using? What recording resolution is the codec set too? Update Set config to divx in record and hit the record about five or six times before it finally connected, but it is now recording. Download and install DJCel's registry tool from the downloads section and run it.
Bottom right hand side click on "Select a Codec". A small window appears to "Choose a codec". I select "ffshow". Then click in the same box on the button "configure". Another window opens defaulting to "encoder configure". There's a "decoder" tab too which I don't use. At the top of the Window there is a pull down box for selecting the encoder.
I leave it at the default and click on the "Apply" button at the bottom of the window, then click "OK". Error in Deck. Q: When I try to load a song on a deck, it will not work and the deck shows 'Error' If you get 'Error' when trying to load a song onto a deck, then it most cases this means that the entry for the song in your VirtualDJ database is no-longer valid.
This is usually caused by either moving, renaming or deleting the song outside of VirtualDJ, so the entry in its database no-longer points to a valid file.
