Pros: Cons:. Have questions for. Crutchfield response. Researched by Crutchfield's Research Team. Samsung HT-EW. Also, the Samsung does get FM radio. Of course if you have an internet connection you're very likely to use of the internet radio stations like Pandora.
I had the same question when selecting this unit since my old system had a receiver and all the other devices you mentioned. Most likely your older components like mine don't have HDMI. I thought this was really cool! The Samsung is really powerful and lets you play music wirelessly from your PC. The DVD is already built-in, so I don't need that anymore either.
The whole package is now so much smaller and it sounds great. Hope this helps. Yes to both questions; however it only receives FM, not AM. You may want to review the users manual, available on Samsungs website. Just search under the model number and go to "Support". It has frequently asked questions and a link to download the manual. It's a great system. We are pleased with it. You can only get FM not a. There is an aux in for other devices like a tape player but we do not currently use that feature.
It looks as though you can only connect one additional device. It has a built-in DVD Blu-ray player so you would not need to add that. In order to use the apps on the device, because it is a smart device, you need to create a Samsung ID and account.
There is a wireless box that the speakers connect to and the wire supplied is very short we needed to purchase additional wire. We had a minor difficulty installing the Netflix app on the device but since we overcame that the system is functioning the way we wanted to. All in all we would recommend it. Its has only 2 hdmi inputs and a usb input ane no other inputs it does play cds dvds and it has a fm tuner [ FRED S Feb 15, ]. We are using the speaker system with the F smart TV so we are using the BLUE Ray player that came with the speaker system and we have everything playing through it.
Sorry I can't really answer your question. Its has only 2 hdmi inputs and a usb input ane no other inputs it does play cds dvds and it has a fm tuner [ FRED S Feb 14, ]. It has an FM tuner as well as rca inputs for analog sound. Perfect, just needed to know that the sound automatically is output through the FW regardless of source being cablebox, xbox, or something else.
Best regards Kasper [ Kasper Feb 08, ]. I hooked up the Fw to a Visio tv. I too prefer the sound through the 5. I can only think that hooking it up to a compatible Samsung Tv would be a compliment and very easy to this home theatre system.
Will watching cable TV and Blueray movies, the sound will come out of the surround sound system and not the TV speakers. When watching some lower quality YouTube videos, it will switch over to the TV speakers automatically and then switch back to surround again with better quality recordings. This was a Christmas gift for my daughter. And if she can figure it out, anybody can [ Keith Feb 06, ].
It's actually pretty easy. All it takes is the press of a button. The "Smart" in both means that they can stream direct from the Internet, like Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, etc Don't be confused. The Smart application on the F is awesome and the Smart application on the HTW looks like my 14 year old made it. You really don't need Smart application on both. However, if you do use the F Smart Application and the over-the-air TV tuner in the F, you will need to run an optical cable from the F optical-out a surround sound system.
Operating the TV and surround sound will require that you juggle two remotes. We installed the speaker system with a Samsung monitor and set them up at the same time.
The two coordinate very well and we are able to control the sound with the TV's remote without using any other device or remote. The only issue has been to make sure that both the TV and the sound system turn on at the same time, and if so, the sound for both cable and accessories go through the sound system seamlessly. Its extremely easy to have all sounds out of the fw specially if the tv you're using is samsung as well.
Sorry I can't help with this but I'm not subscribed to Netflix. Works with mine but an owner cann only know about their tv, not all units. Call crutchfield tech support. Intellectual Property Rights.
